Date and time problems

This is a weird one for all you techno people out there, each day when i put my computer on it shows the date as being January 2002 and the time an hour later than it actually is. I have to change it manually each time i put the computer on or some internet sites do not work. Eveytime i alter it i lock in the new settings but it reverts back each time the computer goes off.

Anyone got any ideas how to stop it happening and why it is doing it?

Have you downloaded or installed anything new recently, it may be worth running system restore.

Have you run a scan to check for viruses ?

Yes i have done a scan and no have not loaded anything new, i am stimped, it just started about 5 days ago and not resets everynight

It may be worth doing a system restore to an earlier restore point. it could be an auto update or anything that has caused a conflict.

Do you use a C cleaner regularly and an adware program ?

Yes to both it is not affecting the running of the computer just annoying to have to change it every night

Had this one years ago.

 

The battery on the motherboard had run out.

 

Couple of pounds to replace by anyone a little techy. It has reverted back to the original manufacture date.
