Hi all,i've been hovering around the forum for a while now and thought it was time i signed us up.I'm Garry and my better half is Tracey. We just got our first Amazon,she/he is called Alice,we think she is about 4yrs old.

We got her from a freind who owns a pet shop, she had been sold and returned at least 4 times,so i guess thats why she has such a bad attitude but we are hoping that, with time and patience she will stop being so aggressive and stop biting. We also have 3 cockatiels,3 dogs,3 cats,2 snakes and a bearded dragon.Anyway i know i tend to waffle on a bit  so i'll give it a rest now.

Like to say thanks for the links MadMudMob,i guess it is a case of taking things slowly until she trusts us.She gave me a real good bite yesterday,my finger is still well sore today LOL.She only held on for a few seconds but it felt like minutes, had to grit my teeth and only swore a little LOL.Anyway the bleeding did stop an hour or two later. :)

Just been reading about how you gained her trust,it helps to know they can learn to trust. At the moment Alice is very aggresive and untrusting, although she does take food from our hands. As the days go by she is becoming more vocal and is already on the way to saying "Love you",she spent alot of time in the pet shop with not much attention. She also lets us know when her fruit/veg bowl is getting low,she goes mad and attacks it.She seems more trusting of Tracey, maybe a man has treated her badly.
