Advice on the use of DAP for fireworks

Recommended Posts

I need to get something to help Jenny my old dog through the fireworks, the vet has suggested DAP, i have put a link below so you can see what i mean, but my worry is if i get this as the plugin as the vet has suggested what effect may it have on my birds.

If anyone has any suggestions for anything else i can try i would be greatful as i will have to do something she is petrified, i have tried all the usuals aswell ie putting on loud music but she still seems to hear them.

I have used these in the past. I checked them out first and was assured they were fine and safe for birds. My (then) parrot had no problem, but sadly, it failed to do anything for my dogs even though I started using it well in advance. I do know other people who have had good results from them.

Hi Annie,

DAP is fine with birds no problem, if your dog is really nervous, try spraying some DAP on a dogs bandanna as well........Try and use the dap as soon as possible so you can get the maximum effect.

Have you tried using Kalms? I know a lot of doggie people & breeders use it. If you look at the dosage for an adult and if you say an average adult weighs 11 stone, adjust the dosage accordingly for your woofer.
