These kind of things illustrate how some parrot owners have clearly lost the plot! Why can't these owners ( who quite clearly love their birds ) work out that you can have almost a lifetimes of absolute bliss and pleasure by letting their birds be birds! OK, they are not in the wild, and never will be, but with a little common sense, a lot of learing and research an owner can bring out the parrots natural instincts and adapt them to a captive life eg: foraging, courtship, flock behaviour, vocal communication, even terirtorial behaviour ( not the bit where the little devils get possesive of their cage, but the bit where they "steal" and take possesion of the millions of "pick-upable" objects that you play with and pretend they can't have )

I feel we have a duty of care to our birds and a huge part of that is to try our best to let them be birds.

Even if the dog doesn't snap back how dirty is that? The dog is licking it's privates and backside, full of germs and maybe worms, the parrot is getting all that. Some people are as thick as a brick. ](*,)
