Hi Patience,

I think it depends on what type of bird you have. I have harnesses for my three biggest parrots, the two greenwinged macaws bite right through theirs, so I have created a home made chain one for them ( Max looks like he-man when he puts it on!!)

My Grey, Miller, is so nervy that I have been unable to get it on him despite numerous attempts.

Good luck!

Rachel

the aviator harness should come with a dvd to watch to learn you how to get the birds used to it and how to put it on correctly. peta (macaw) likes his harness and enjoyes goig out to the back garden for a walk around.

i have just ordered one for polly (meyers) but im sure she will like it as ive been putting petas harness over her so she can have a feel lol

they are goot in my opionion and the best design ive seen (aviator)

I must admit I have tried both, the aviator and the feather tether one.. The aviator is by far the easiest (mind you I have put it on the wrong way round!!) to use, and the dvd makes it alot easier to use..

I came across one on ebay that comes with a DVD it was 25 quid. Im sure if you just search by parrot harness/aviator you will come across it  8)

We have an Aviator and find it easy to slide on and off even when I have a beak helping me (only when taking off).

When I take the harness and Poppy sees it she flies over to me so must like her trips outside :D

She gets loads of attention so great fro socialising her. She is scared of children (not used to children)at the moment so I see more trips near kiddy play areas coming...

Poppy has started to chew on her harness a little so if anybody has tips on how to stop this please we want to hear!!!

I think she is now so comfortable being outside so she has time to chew the harness, at first she was too busy taking it all in.

Another great thing about the Aviator i the stretchy lead bit (which other harnesses do not have) as it really softens the stopping when the bird gets to the end of the lead.

Poppy has learned to turn when she runs out of lead and return to me.

and yeah my partner too used to put the Aviator wrong way round untill I pointed it out to him... so seems to work even when put on wrongway round :D

Is it cheaper from them then? I would need the $34.99 one....... whats that in pounds? It needs to be cheaper than £26.80 which is the cost inc p+p through ebay for the same product.

Anybody any good at conversions on here? 8):P

A lot cheaper then!!

Cheers for the link :)

Another silly question, I noticed a paypal option, how does that work.... will paypal do all the conversion stuff for me, or do I have to put in the converted amount?

you should be able to just pay in dollars Sharon and then pound sterling equivalent will appear on your bank statement if paying through credit/debit card. If a direct paypal transfer it will prompt you for a conversion or will advise it will do the conversion automatically.

I am also thinking about getting a harness for Mango. He is only 6 months old so think i better get one soon to get him used to it. He has not had his wings clipped and am little wary of taking him outside but I am sure he would love it. If the bird enjoys going outisde i think they are a great idea.
