  1. The ads been removed so i couldnt see how bad it was ! However this is only 20 minutes from me! i couldnt take them but i could have helped with transporting !
  2. couldnt agree more - great words! The breeding really needs to stop! its so hard to say it, being a parrot/bird lover but they should have all been left in south america & the caribbean under natures care ! Breeding for profit to allow them to end up like this is beyond sickening!
  3. I hope this grey went to a good home & i hope whoever took it, left that filthy piece of crap cage with the old 'owner' ! i hope it now has a nice life !
  4. jesus - some people - Sounds like KIKO went to the right person! They look like lovely amazons & very happy! all the best
  5. bless his little heart ! wishing you & henry all the best! i hope he has a great recovery! these incidents are so sad ! all the best
  6. hi jean so sorry to hear your news - i fully understand your feelings & heartache! i lost Jovi - my OW amazon last may & he was never seen or heard off again - not by me anyway ! despite all the usual procedures & jovi being microchipped! its heartbreaking, it really is - its also so hard just not knowing! theres not a day go by i dont look up at the trees & think off jovi! Hahns macaws are beautiful little birds too - always wanted one! well i just wanted to offer some support - your not alone! best of luck !
  7. i forgot to say that 1 of the conures i previously lost was a Peach Fronted ! absolutely beautiful bird - Jimmy! i only had it a couple of months - it appeared that the amazon - jovi (now missing) actually took the conservatory window OFF the ledge & let him out - though he decided not to follow - for the time being anyway ! anyway, as sharon said - its not wrong to consider them family members - in fact i consider it very right ! theres nothing wrong what-so-ever about loving them so much - its the people that dont treat them like family who need to be ashamed & feel guilt ! when u love them & treat them like your children, then they become your children - we dont have any children but we DO consider our retriever & our birds as our children & we try our best to spoil them & treat them exactly as if they are - i understand you may feel some guilt when in some eyes its 'JUST A BIRD' etc & u hear so much in the news about the likes of 'Madaline' so it seems to pale in comparison but to us they ARE family & losing family is heartbreaking ! as i said - i understand 100% - as i imagine most on this board do & i DO feel for you! as for the 1 left behind - again i can relate - im now seriously considering getting a new friend for tommy as he is clearly lonely w/out jovi - they shared a big cage- though i have another conure & quaker but they are paired up & wont let tommy into the circle - 3's a crowd i guess ! u should probably consider getting another bird , i dont think its fair for a bird to lose a friend/partner & be left alone - in spite of the love we try to give them to make up for it - its not the same ! again, best of luck ! sean
  8. jesus i cant believe it - he got out again - they obviously have a 'clumsy' issue or something, losing him again so soon says something & they're kinda asking for it - i think i'd have clipped him after 5 months away but they sure are lucky to get him back a 2nd time ! i wonder if they realise just how lucky? as for micro-chipping, well yeah i agree its a neccessity but its not fool proof is it - i had my amazon chipped & i havnt got him back of course, its wonderful if he/they are caught AND scanned but if they dont get scanned then its not much help but i would still say its worth doing !

  10. its a nice happy ending - im sure they're very happy in their new home - well done for taking them in & taking care of them - not that u had much choice i spose ! i find it perplexing when so many of us are searching for lost birds that people just dump them! some people are obviously heartless hey!
  11. rainy - thanks for the crossed fingers etc! glad u got bubba back - well done ! I thought id post an update , though theres nothing much too post ! I havn't checked into the forum for sometime as i find it quite hard reading about all the lost birds, especially when theres so little news of reunions etc ! however, its great when u do read about a return ! its now just over 3 months since Jovi escaped with no news what -so-ever (excluding a false alarm) despite jovi being chipped, (something i put great faith in but hasnt helped AS YET!) all the posters & notifying local vets etc etc - ive never heard a thing !!! i dont feel that hes dead though, i tend to feel that someone has him - he may have even been passed around a few times by now (he could be extremely noisy) - im sceptical about most people returning a valuable parrot when they can sell them for quick cash ! But i guess u never know & thats what hurts - just not knowing, if hes dead or alive - still wild, inside a warm house being loved or cooped up in a small cage or cold, dark aviery ? All the posters i put up have either been torn down or blown away (id go with the former) & i feel too despondant to go out & replace them ! I went to my breeders yesterday (for conure food) for the first time since he escaped - i hadnt been able to face all the babys & amazons for sale and true enough, though i was kinda OK - my wife saw the First O.W amazon & broke down & went straight back to the car - refusing to look at the babys etc ! well i'll try to keep a bit of hope but ive pretty much given up now on ever seeing him again ! Its heartbreaking, as everyone here whos lost a bird knows ! i must have had 50 dreams about Jovi & his return home, everyday i stupidly hope hes going to magically appear on the garden fence or something ! anyway - i keep searching the skys ! thanks again to everyone for the best wishes sean
  12. any news on this ? was it re-united with its owner ?
  13. (only just seen this & wanted to offer my condolenscence) Sorry sue to hear about this - its so heartbreaking, i feel for you but at least you know the out-come, its a killer not knowing if they are out there flying around happy, dead or in someones house un-happy ! so sad - all the best & sorry for your loss! sean
  14. sazzyjazzy Any news ? did u have any joy ? It is heartbreaking - i lost my amazon (jovi) on the 31st may after 3 yrs off bringing him up from a baby & i have not seen or heard a thing either - despite doing the posters & offering rewards, like you and i also tend to think he may be in 'someones' home though he could be a noisy bugger so im not sure everyone could put up with him - hes micro-chipped too but at this stage it hasnt proved helpful! i think a G/W could more than hold his own against any crows or sparrowhawks etc & possible out fly them so i wouldnt assume he has been killed by others but its so hard just not knowing hey ! i live in littleport so he could have made it out this way & if i EVER hear or see anything, ill be straight in touch ! for that reward - JUST KIDDING ! i understand your grief ! all the best
