  1. sorry im just so excited. he is about 2 yrs old and is extremely tame and answers to the name of casper.
  2. hi every1 i would like to ask for some advise as to how i should care for my new grey. i have been around birds all my life and for the last 3 yrs i have been breeding and handrearing smaller parakeets. i have done my reaserch, but i have found that this site has a fountain of very usefull info, all you have to do is ask.
  3. good news the last baby cockatiel i thought was gonna die has come on leaps and bounds the last few days, i gave him a few drops of cider vinager in his formula and since then hes back to being his normal self. happy days ive formed a strong bond with this one i think hes a keeper. i think i'll call him arni cause hes a little hard man.

  5. i prefer the spoon too but there are time that i have no choice but to use the syring. i like to call them "crazy babies" are too much to handle and the spoon gets it everywhere, but the syring on the other hand sends it to the back of the throat and all they can do is pump at it prob solved. but i always start with the spoon. all it boils down to is preferance.
  6. bunny jr i pull all my chicks at about 7- 10 days old i let the parents do all the hard work. i have 1 baby in the freezer that died due to this formula. and it looks like there might be another on the way, i change the formula to orlux but for these 2 birds i thibk the damage was done and it was too late.
  7. it is the nutri bird formula. ive just got off the phone from the company that sold me the formula and they have admitted that there is a prob with the courseness of the new formula. my question now is can they just change thier formula without telling the public or even there distributers, or even an improved sticker on the tub. im goin to speak to my solicitor about this i'll keep you all posted.
  8. thanx my babies are my life. i don't want too loose them through ignoranse
  9. i have heard through the grape vine that versalaga has changed thier handrearing formulas and have made them more course. the babies are dieing due to not being able to digest this course food and are absorbing all moisture from it leaving a chewing gum like tecture behind in the crop. is this true. i know that 1 wholesaler here in northern ireland has recalled his versalaga handrearing formula from several petshops. could this be the reason. i am using this formula and find that my birds get this chewing gum like texture.
  10. i i have had 2 pairs of parrotlets for about a year now and i have had no luck in breeding them. they are in a 24"x24"x16" cage 1 pair has a cockatiel nst box and 1 pair has a budgie nest box, neither show any interest in breeding. any info would be greatly apreciated
  11. i am now at a delema on weather to close ring my birds or not, i just can't make my mind up. for every pro i find a con. are u for or against closed ringing birds.

  13. hi i ahev a very loving indian ringneck, but when he gets anoid at you watch out he bits and very hard, he take no prisoners. he cage is his teritory and god help if he catches you with your hand in it. but if hes on top of the cage he will step up, that is if he is in a good mood of course. i don't want this nasty bird to get any worse, i want the lovely bird "gismo" that i got to love and trust. how can i train him to stop his temper tantrums anyone.
