I have recently tried to start sprouting seeds for my African Grey, but am not having much luck,
I picked up a bag of this : https://www.scarlettsparrotessentials.co.uk/as305-soaking-seed-mix-5kg-4711
I rinse it, soak for 24 hours, then rinse again, drain all water, and put a damp rag on top of the jar and leave on the windowsill. But even after 5 days (re-dampening the rag between), there is very little action going on. A few seeds have very small white sprouts and that is it. Only after about 8 days or so do I start to see green sprouts about 25mm long. I haven't fed her any of this, as from what I have read, it is only supposed to take a few days. So just threw it out. But I have tried 4 times now with the same results?
So am now wondering if I should try and sprout something else. Perhaps these?
Or should I try https://www.scarlettsparrotessentials.co.uk/tidymix-soaking-pulses-2kg ?
