"Bertie the parrot has been cleared by a court of keeping his neighbours awake. The Amazon bird was dragged before the beak after Tom Stock, 59 and wife Sue said their sleep is regularly shattered at 4am by his squawks. The furious couple used high-tech equipment supplied by their local council to record noise levels in the bedroom of their detached bungalow at Belton, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Tom, a retired insurance claims assessor said: "We're very disappointed. It is like a jungle noise sometimes going on for two hours. I would defy anyone to sleep through it. We have even asked for an ASBO in the past and this court case was our Big hope".
Owner Alan Cooper, 58, said "it's a struggle to get Bertie to say hello, never mind make any other noise.""
