  6. I have a nine year old Sennie. Never had any problems with him, but about 4 weeks ago he injured a toe. It was bleeding and I stopped the bleeding and he seemed fine. The next morning there was blood everywhere in his cage. He had chewed his foot and I could not stop him chewing it. I took him to an avian specialist vet who bandaged his foot. He immediately chewed the bandage off and made the foot bleed again, he got some of this blood on his other foot and started chewing that aswell. I took him back to the vets who ran blood tests which have all come back fine (liver, kidneys etc). Dobby has been on antibiotics, antihistamine and has been wearing a collar. His feet have completely healed so today I removed the collar and watched him. He started chewing his feet on and off and I kept distracting him. Howver he managed to chew them to the extent that one of them started to bleed - when this happened he got really excited, running round his cage, climbing on and off his perch - it seems to me that he likes the taste of the blood. Neadless to say I have put his collar back on but I really don't know what to do next, I don't want him to have to wear a collar for the rest of his life but if I take it off he is going to chew his feet until he bleeds to death. The vets can't find any medical reason as to why he is doing this and they have tested for everything. Please help.
