My name is Francois Wolmarans and I am involved with a fair sized bird club (The Bushveld Bird Club) in the North of South Africa. The club has approximately 60 members most of which breed parrots, parakeets, lovebirds, etc on a fairly large scale. Being involved with exports and airfreight, I've been tasked to explore opportunities for exporting domestically bred birds on behalf of the club. We are in close contact with the local head of our Nature Conservation Department who is also responsible for all CITES related matters as well as one of the most respected avian vets in South Africa. As a result, all CITES birds will be exported in accordance with CITES regulations and will be certified against illnesses e.g. PBFDV / APV / CP using extremely sensitive molecular probe assays.
As a club, we have literally hundreds of species which we breed ranging from African species (e.g. Meyers / Brown headed / Grey's / etc) to South American species (Macaws / etc) to the pacific region (Australian parakeets / Eclectus / etc). Our range of birds therefore span both common and fairly rare species.
Please note that we will be offering the following options:
1. Sexing certificates
2. Pathogen Free certificates
3. Immunisation against viruses such as PBFDV and APV.
All bird will be transported as per IATA regulations with sufficient
food and water to ensure health and fitness is not affected negatively.
